I think that best describes today… I managed to bum around all day yesterday, since I was still exhausted from Saturday’s 3 am wake up call. That’s okay, I got most of the stuff I wanted to get done around the house done. Yay!
But the most productive thing I did yesterday was to make tonight’s meal! I took this trick from my mom, who used to make all her soups on Sunday and let them sit in the fridge overnight to make Monday’s meal quick but also for the flavor. She was also the inspiration for the meal, since she told all about it on Saturday. I just made a quick chicken stew, basically thickened chicken soup and eventually made parsley dumplings (recipe on the recipe page!). I didn’t manage to get a pic of J’s dumplings, but I have to say they were mighty good looking! I just stuck to the stew tonight, I had had my fill of bread today.

I’m off to do some baking… I’ve got three super ripe bananas calling my name! I think I’m going to play around with my banana bread recipe tonight!

my grandmother does the same thing with her soups – makes them on sunday and has them for dinner on monday on, or somtimes even lunch. – something about the flavors coming together.
hope your baking went well!
Parsley dumplings sound really good! Hope baking went well
Mel that looks delicious! I can eat soup and stews all year – even in the summer!
Mmmm. In my house, we always have stew over rice. Isn’t that funny? But now it’s the only way I can have it! Looking at the photo makes me crave red potatoes
It’s really true that soup is better the next day. Come to think of it, that’s true of a number of things. mmm. Soup is perfect for this drippy weather we’re getting too!
