We have a membership to Costco and love it! It’s really useful for things like frozen fish/meats, household products (paper towels come to mind), and some produce that you can use up quickly (we buy a big bag of apples and spinach at the beginning of every week). I definitely recommend it!

I have a membership to Costco. But I’m not sure if it is practical for just the two of you. the staples I buy for myself is oatmeal, eggs, fruits, bottled water, occasionally bread, frozen broccoli. The prices are good, but seriously, not as good as when you local supermarkets are having a sale. But if you have a large family, Costco is your life-saver.

i have a membership to costco -LOVE it!

some staples i get include: giant tubs of cottage cheese, eggs, spinach, raspberries, strawberries, and milk – and sometimes chicken breast

I love Sam’s Club, however, if I have paper towels on the grocery list, and my husband says he’s going to pick them up at Sam’s, “do we need anything else?” I say no, but its a rare occassion when he doesn’t end up spending at least $100!

But their paper towels, napkins, toilet paper are cheap – and I find good deals on pork roasts and whole chickens – maybe bring cash so you aren’t tempted!

And my husband got his membership through his dad’s work, so its a business membership, so we get to go in early before everyone else.

We used to have a Costco membership but we didn’t use it that much because we just hit up our local grocery store. There’s only three of us and you can only buy so much in bulk before it takes over your house. However! It is handy because Costco gas is usually cheaper, you can get photos printed there, and for us bar-a-holics you can buy your favorites in mass quantities instead of always buying a few when you’re out.

I don’t have my own membership but about every 3 weeks my dad and I have a standing date where I go with him and shop. If I wasn’t lucky enough to be able to go with him and use their memebership, I would definitely have my own. Sometimes all I’ll buy is toilet paper or paper towels, and other times I buy meats, produce, books. I definitely think it’s worth it.

I, too, have been contemplating a membership to one of those mega stores. Part of me (the part that buys granola bars and cereal in bulk when it’s on sale, and the part that is obsessed with price-per-ounce efficiency) really wants to. The other part of me (that runs to the neighborhood Pick n’ Save once a week for a few things here and there and can’t be bothered to drive more than 1 minute to the store) thinks I wouldn’t use it enough for it to be useful, since Sam’s is bit out of the way for us.

I’m not much help, but I’m interested to hear other responses.
